In preparation for this devotion,… I was looking for What it is about Easter and Jesus that is so special?… To be sure…. it is that Christ suffered and died… and was resurrected to save us from ourselves… and the sins that entomb us. …(Luke 24:46-47). “The Christ will suffer… and rise from the dead on the third day… and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name.”…. That is God’s plan.
Sin is a miserable condition for any living soul… but even worse for one who dies a sinner… But such are we as Gods Creation… and he loves us… He being The Holy Father of us all,…has made a plan of salvation for our lost souls. …. (1John 1:7) But if we walk in the light,… as he is in the light,… we have fellowship with one another,… and the blood of Jesus,… his Son, purifies us from all sin. … That is God’s plan.
He would make for us a Savior, … Christ Jesus… who would come to us… as one who knows about…the harsh reality of life. … One who has suffered punishment and death for our sake, … in order to have us come before our God as the righteousness of His Son… (Romans_4:24) but also for us, …to whom God will credit righteousness--for us who believe in him… who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. … That is God’s plan.
How was this accomplished? …Well to be sure… it was death by crucifixion… which is meant to cause great pain… and prolonged suffering.… Isaiah 53:4-5 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, … stricken by him, … and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, … he was crushed for our iniquities; … the punishment that brought us peace was on him…, and by his wounds we are healed. … That is God’s plan.
After his death… He was put into a tomb… and a stone rolled across the entrance of it, … and it was sealed… . But the Romans were not believers
and they thought death was a permanent state …A state from which no one had ever returned. … But there were stories about his coming resurrection on the third day… So it was that by posting guards they hoped to prevent such a thing from happening…(1Corinthians 15:3-4)… For what I received …I passed on to you as of first importance: … that Christ died for our sins… according to the Scriptures, … that he was buried, … that he was raised on the third day… according to the Scriptures.” … That is God’s plan.
.
(Matthew 28:1-4) After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. … There was a violent earthquake, … for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, … going to the tomb, … rolled back the stone and sat on it. … His appearance was like lightning, … and his clothes were white as snow…. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook… and became like dead men. … That is God’s plan.
Why an angel? … Why was the stone rolled away? … Jesus could have left the tomb without it ever being opened…But Seeing is believing. … God is actually in charge, and no guards… and no stone can block the purposes of God. … But that stone can prove the matter beyond any doubt. … Christ had risen from the dead… to continue what He had started…. He had risen, … and the empty tomb… with the stone rolled away was proof of it…. And the angel of God was there… to remove the stone and …speak of the resurrection of Jesus. … That is God’s plan.
And even today,… we are sealed in the tomb of our sin, and Satan guards the entrance so that our soul cannot be released…. But because Gods plan has included Jesus’ release from the tomb… and His resurrection from death,… there is no sin,… and no stone, …and no guard of Satan’s troop that can prevent the completion of Gods purpose in Him…(Romans 8:11) “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, …he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead… will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit… who dwells in you.”. … That is God’s plan.
Jesus died to pay the price of our sins… and he was resurrected for our justification… and he lives to prove our salvation…. Easter is a special time, Easter is the signal given that Jesus has become our righteousness…. Our Souls have been released from the tomb of our sins. Our salvation is assured….(Romans 8:34) “Who is to condemn? … Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that,… who was raised…who is at the right hand of God, … who indeed is interceding for us.”… Easter is, because Christ arose, … Easter…is God’s plan….Amen
